RIGHT BEFORE THE BATTLE The real action of the 2nd World Championship is about to begin. Yesterday, on the 16th of September, all the participants had finally come together. 16 teams have come to the event and their leaders had gathered at the conference hall of the Palace of Culture and Sport of the Deaf at 15:00 sharp. The meeting was opened with the speech of Grigor Grigoryan, the head of the championship’s organizing committee. He had warmly welcomed everyone and talked about some specificities of the tournament. The president of ICDS Donalda Ammons had spoken after that. She had kindly accepted the organizing committee’s invitation to Yerevan and seemed quite pleased with that. Doctor Ammons had noted that this championship had been very well organized and said she was hoping that the committee would manage to keep it up the same way right to the end. The representative of ICDS Dogan Odzemir and that of ICDS TD for wrestling Mehmet Bilgili had spoken of some technical points and then the audience was able to ask any questions they had. There were not so many, though. These official events are very important but the 200 people have come to Yerevan too see something else, something much more exciting and that is surely the contest! The first fight is today at 10:00 and that will be the real start of World Championship.
